[22nd February 2017] Fishers had the opportunity to participate in a workshop entitled “Communication and Team Building”. The workshop, organized by the Fisheries Department and Capricorn BV, took place in Suriname. There were approximately 20 participants mostly men from Paramaribo in Commewijne. Its objective was to develop the key skills of an effective leader to communicate with others. This is of significance given that the CNFO is developing leaders to participate actively in governance. According to Mr. Willem Mohamed Hoesein, the workshop was very educational and he gave special thanks to the participants. Based on further feedback received from Mr. Mark Lall the CNFO intends to continue building capacity in the theme of communications and team building.
